TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
TRAFFIC ASSESSMENT REPORTS
If you need a Traffic Assessment to get consent then we can help. We will review the existing road network and your development proposals to determine whether any effects are likely. If so, we can recommend changes or improvements to mitigate these effects.

If you propose a complex residential, commercial, mixed-used or industrial development then intersection and network modelling may be required. By modelling the development we can determine if any effects are likely and whether mitigation measures will be effective.

ACCESS AND PARKING DESIGN
The primary interface between a development and its visitors is the access and parking area. We are experienced at optimising parking layouts to ensure the area is welcoming and utilised efficiently.

We use the latest vehicle tracking software to determine swept paths; two-dimensional tracking for site layout and intersection design, and three-dimensional tracking for ramps and overhead beam design.

SIGHT LINE ASSESSMENT
One issue that often arises when applying for subdivision consent is whether sight lines to and from the proposed access are adequate.

We have the expertise required to determine the sight line requirements to ensure a safe layout. We can also confirm what work is needed, if any, to meet these requirements.

GEOMETRIC DESIGN
ROAD AND PATH DESIGN
Urban roads, rural roads and cycle paths all have their own challenges. From managing underground services to calculating super-elevation to designing safe crossings we have the expertise needed to overcome whatever your project requires.

INTERSECTION DESIGN
Left turn lanes, right turn bays and roundabouts are typically complicated projects to design and construct.

We have the experience to ensure your project delivery does not suffer from unexpected problems saving time and money.

SUBDIVISION DESIGN
Land development involves a wide range of complementary professions and other engineering disciplines.

We regularly work closely with other consultants ensuring we deliver the best outcome for your project. Ask about our professional network.

ROAD SAFETY
ROAD SAFETY AUDITS
Road Safety Audits are often required as a project progresses. A "fresh pair of eyes" aims to identify potential safety issues, especially during the design stage when it is cheaper to rectify.

Our team are certified and experienced safety auditors who can carry out a safety audit on your project independently or as part of a wider safety audit team.

CRASH REDUCTION STUDIES
Crash Reduction Studies can cover a large or small area. A network-wide review may seek to identify high crash rate locations; once identified a more in depth analysis of the crashes is required.
A site specific crash analysis aims to identify common crash traits and determine whether these can be addressed.

SAFETY BARRIER DESIGN
Our engineers have been certified by the New Zealand Transport Agency to inspect and design road safety barriers.
Safety barriers, which shield vehicles from roadside hazards, are a last resort, ideally the hazard would be removed instead. Contact us to determine the best way to address your roadside hazard.
